Teacher: Annie Arrowsmith

Now based in Chorlton, Annie has taught Transcendental Meditation and advanced courses both in the US and Europe to individuals and groups from all walks of life - from students to professors, senior executives, the unemployed, homemakers, and pensioners.

Her background before this included working as an advertising Account Executive working with clients such as Esso, the Milk Marketing Board and Del Monte with many late nights and tight deadlines. Although exciting and extremely rewarding financially, something seemed missing. Shortly after learning Transcendental Meditation, she and her husband founded an award-winning audio visual and training company that is still trading.

Transcendental Meditation twice a day provided a completely different experience of life. Health issues that had been developing, disappeared. Life just seemed more fun. There was more creativity, energy and clarity of thought. The dramatic changes inspired her to become a teacher of Transcendental Meditation and she completed her training in 1977. She only wishes she’d started TM sooner, like her two sons (now grown), who learned at 5 years old and were able to go to the Maharishi School in Lancashire, where the teachers and children practise Transcendental Meditation together twice a day.

Annie and a supporting group of qualified instructors teach Transcendental Meditation at convenient venues in South Manchester that provide a peaceful and delightful environment for that first experience of restful alertness that Transcendental Meditation provides. As a partner in a management solutions consultancy she also offers Transcendental Meditation instruction in-house to employees as part of an overall business development programme.
